1. Introduction

Handled ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Handled mobile application and related services (the "App").

2. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), and relationship (e.g. Parent, Grandparent).
  • Family and calendar data: events, tasks, children's names, family member details, and preferences you enter in the App.
  • Device and usage data: device token for push notifications, time zone, and usage of the App to operate and improve our services.
  • Subscription and payment: subscription status and transaction identifiers (e.g. from the App Store); we do not store full payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information to provide, maintain, and improve the App; to authenticate you and manage your account; to send you push notifications (e.g. reminders) if you allow; to process subscriptions; to respond to support requests; and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Sharing of Information

We share information only as follows: (a) with other members of your family within the App (e.g. events, tasks); (b) with service providers that help us operate the App (e.g. hosting, email), under strict confidentiality; (c) if required by law or to protect rights and safety; (d) in connection with a merger or sale of assets, with notice. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties for marketing.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and family data while your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data in accordance with our retention policy, except where we must retain it for legal or operational reasons.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update account details in the App and delete your account from Settings. For other requests, contact us at the email below. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children

The App allows you to add children's names and events for family coordination. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place where required by law.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy or by in-app or email notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
